Front Page
Derrick 12/09/08 | | Publicity is a major key when trying to sell your stock photos. Getting your images viewed by as many people as possible is a goal that every stock photographer should have. This being said there have been a few questions on why some NewDarkRoom members images have not been seen on the front page marquee. The system was at first a simple idea. The highest rated images will appear on the front page. Images are randomly selected by users with high ratings and image ratings. This worked out well for some but others work were not being recognized like the should have due to lack of ratings.
So now we are making things fair. The front page marquee system is now being retooled to give others a better chance of being publicized on the front page.
We are also going to utilize the front page space for other more specific reasons as well. For example we will occasionally be having photo contests with certain winners getting a full marquee showing for a set period of time. You should see this change in the next day or too so keep an eye out for your images popping up. | | Back |

Very Cool! I find my self staring at that thing for long amounts of time looking for good images.

Yes, I think it's very cool as well. I found myself watching it for long periods of time, wondering why there were so many photos by so few photographers. |
